Polygraph > Graphic Design, Product Design, & Type Design in Washington, DC

We’re seeking a highly motivated, professional, and hands-on, junior designer to join our team! The designer would be responsible for large-scope, multi-project brand campaigns, guiding internal creative teams on projects, and working directly with core clients. The ideal candidate is a highly creative designer with strong attention to detail who is able to prioritize and adapt to ever-changing demands. The position is full-time.

The designer position core responsibilities include:
  • Develop designs, illustrations, visual identities, and graphics support for logos/branding, signage, print and website design (not development) and more
  • Research, reference, and pull inspiration to translate into creative moodboards
  • Participate in creative brainstorms and visual explorations for creative development
  • Brand / logo identity design prowess
  • Coordinate communications with production vendors to deliver projects on time
  • Provide print-ready layouts and art files for small and large scale productions
  • Proactively communicate issues, opportunities, and insights with the team
  • Complete ad-hoc requests as required

Successful applicants will have the following qualities and be able to demonstrate them:
  • 1-3+ years of professional design experience preferred
  • Excellent layout design proficiency, both technically and creatively
  • Brand / logo identity design prowess
  • An elegant design aesthetic and excellent typography skills
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (in particular: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to reference, analyze and articulate design
  • Self-motivated; ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a small group setting
  • Meticulous about design details with great organizational skills
  • Creativity outside the computer
  • Ability to see a project through from conception to implementation
  • Photography, Illustration, and Web skills (Sketch / Adobe Xd) are always a plus!

It goes without saying, but as part of a small studio environment you will be expected to wear many hats and have the opportunity to contribute to challenging creative projects at all stages working closely with all members of Polygraph. We look forward to hearing from you!
