For their national conference, the American Institute of Architects reached out with a series of issue-based essays dealing with the challenges and responsibilities of designing the urban environment in the 21st century. We saw an opportunity to create a more robust and engaging editorial piece and they gave us the green light. We art-directed and illustrated a document full of visual juxtapositions, complimentary images, and playful collages to punctuate each essay and bring a sense of visual gravity and storytelling to the piece. The result is a sixty page manifesto on urban accountability and a blueprint for building better cities.
