Polygraph is an award-winning branding and editorial studio in Washington, DC focused on brand strategy and design for cultural, hospitality and corporate clients. We are currently looking for a highly motivated, professional, and hands-on brand designer to join our team. This role is ideal for a highly creative candidate with strong attention to detail who is able to prioritize and adapt to ever-changing demands. As part of a small studio environment you have the unique opportunity to contribute to many projects at all stages of design and work closely with all members of Polygraph. This position does require in-person office attendance and we are looking to fill it quickly, so please let us know your earliest availability.
— Develop illustrations, visual identities, and graphics for branding, signage, print collateral, website design (not development)
— Provide print-ready layouts and art files for small and large scale productions
— Develop design strategy frameworks for brand projects
— Brand Copywriting
— Coordinate communications with internal departments and external suppliers to deliver projects on time and on budget
— Proactively communicate issues, opportunities, and insights to the team
— Complete ad-hoc requests as required
— Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in graphic design, communications, or similar
— 2+ years of graphic design work experience in a studio or in-house setting (onsite preferred)
— Motivated, multi-disciplinary creator who is excited to share new ideas
— Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (in particular: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Figma
— Basic knowledge of print production processes and procedures, and digital design techniques
— Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to reference, analyze and articulate design
— Deadline focused and flexible under fluctuating workload
— An elegant design aesthetic and excellent typography skills
— Self-motivated, can work autonomously and collaboratively in a small group setting
— Meticulous about design details, and with great organizational skills
— Able to see a project through from conception to implementation
— Photography, Illustration, and Web skills are a plus
