Annual Report
How do you tell the story of an institution of this scale? One with incredible reach, unwavering ambition, and generous spirit? This is the Smithsonian’s constant and expanding challenge. For the 2019 annual report, we worked to weave a visual narrative alongside the text through a less-is-more approach, juxtaposing imagery from disparate fields of study in an over-sized format. Using imagery selectively, we seek to provoke the reader to consider the magnitude of the institution and what it has accomplished.
